Being a horror fan comes with a stigma. Many groups from all sides of the social spectrum believe that horror movies are morally reprehensible and promote real-life violence. Because of that, the Horror Community is staunchly anti-censorship and broadly permissive around violent and disturbing content in horror movies. Sometimes, this allows real-life monsters to hide among our ranks, who promote real-life sadism and misogyny.
